File Under: Maine has until Tomorrow to get it's Real ID Shit together.
So apparently in a gesture of kindness, DHS head Michal Chertoff has given Maine until tomorrow at 5pm to show more progress toward compliance with the Real ID program. I wonder what the average Mainer will do when told they can't enter federal buildings or fly. This ought to be fun.

Sweet, maybe people will stay in Maine for a change....
Since it's spring, and I'm in the "other" Maine, I thought I'd point out that people do stay in Maine - just not the northern part of it. For the next several months, far too many people are going to be staying in Maine, IMNSHO. The York toll should be like the tolls in Boston - pay like hell to come in, but leaving is free. Or, even better, pay going north on friday and coming south on sunday. Sure, we'd lose some tourism money... but on the bright side, we'd also lose some tourists!
But , but , but - - if the tourists don't come what will the folks do with all those antiques they spend all winter making ? :[
