File Under: Hurt Locker

If this movie is half as good as I hear it is, it's going to be amazing.

File Under: Epiphone Mandobird

I've been hoping this baby wouldn't be sold before I could pick it up. It's been a long couple of months, but I finally bought it today.

File Under: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - Waterfront

A great night of music. The new line up is dynamic. Benny Yurco and Catherine Popper make fine additions. I would by lying if I said I didn't miss Bryan though. This is not a knock on Cat as she is an amazing bassist, I was just so use to his grooves and flourishes and notice when they aren't there.

This fine evening culminated in back stage passes courtesy of a band members mother. I can tell you she is a wicked nice woman to begin with, but giving me her pass was way above the usual niceties. I can't thank her enough. Got a chance to talk to all the usual characters backstage and meet a couple of online friends in the flesh. It was quite an experience. Then we went to Nectar's to catch up with the rest of the Posse.

File Under: Grace Potter Solo Show

This was an amazing evening and really showed Grace's abilities. I had a great time and the promoter did a great job. I would make the 9 hour drive to do another one of these.

File Under: Wilco

What a fun night. Wilco was f'n great! They played a couple songs off of Mermaid Avenue, which made me so happy.

My good friend Jodi was working the show and the band was cool and let her come out and watch with us. My Blues and Lasers tee caught the attention of a couple of folks from Burlington, always a smaller world than we think. Mom thought she saw Jen Crowell, I thought she was nuts, until Jodi started talking about a lady talking about GPN and her own work.

"What's her name?"

"Jen."

"Crowell?"

"I don't know, let me check." Enter modern technology..."Yep."

Small world indeed.

Photos: cheap seats: sounded good here, but couldn't see shit: setlist and schedule thanks to a very nice lady

File Under: Toby Lightman - Better

She did this when I saw her a few years back. She wrote this song for her sister and her nephew. I acknowledge that I am a big dopey sap a lot of the time. Therefore, I like this song.

File Under: United Breaks Guitars

Phil posted this on Facebook and I feel the need to share for a couple of reasons. One, it's a catchy little tune. Second, United broke a Taylor, so fuck them.
