I get their point - I do. However, my counterpoint would be this: I've been bargain-hunting collected works of various authors that are in the public domain as e-books, and I already have more (at dead bargain prices) than I have the room or inclination to store as dead tree editions. At the speed I read at, hauling enough books to keep me occupied for a week while I'm on a work trip would require its own piece of luggage - possibly larger than the one the clothes would go in. A kindle (for instance) allows me to throw a not-insignificant portion of the great works of western literature in my bag, taking up less space than any one of the books I would otherwise pack. And it is because of these reasons that the comparison of an e-book reader to a single book falls apart.

That said - the battery life could be better. I would gladly have it be a few ounces heavier if the battery life were more impressive. But realistically, it's enough to last me more than a day easily, and I have to sleep sometime.

I totally understand, I wouldn't mind a Kindle II. I just thought this was f'n funny. Especially considering the technophiles running around the PA group.
