File Under: Of Men in Black and Muppets

While having a discussion on music the other day, someone asked me if I thought there was any good country. I said of course there is, not much, but definitely yes. I said that Johnny Cash was good country, but I may have been tainted at a young age.

Neko Case, Kelly Gordon, Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss, pretty much everything bluegrass... If you want to kick it old school, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Chet Atkins, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams.

A lot of Drive-By Truckers qualifies, too.

Just because what's popular sucks, doesn't mean everything sucks. Whatever's popular, turn and run the other way and you're bound to find something interesting.

I of course meant Kelly Hogan - no more commenting at a quarter to godawful in the morning and a long evening out drinking for me!

No problem, it is a testament to your musical knowledge and typing skills that you could put together a coherent post in that condition.
